About This Site
As I write this, in early 2012, not a single Bill S. Ballinger book is in print in the U.S. If I am not mistaken, a Harper Collins two-in-one edition of Portrait in Smoke and The Tooth and the Nail could be the only appearance of Ballinger in print in the U.S. since the author's death in 1980. This is a shame.
Several crime and suspense novels by Ballinger are worthy of continued publication, at the very least, and a few have been called classics of the genre. As far as I can tell, Ballinger is also under appreciated at this time by book collectors. There also seems to be a lack of recognition of Ballinger's work as a writer for radio (in the 40's) and for TV and film (50's-70's). This fan's hope is that this modest web site about author Bill S. Ballinger will help rectify this situation.
